Lu Huaming, is the executive director of Jiangsu Jade Culture Industry Association, Deputy Secretary General of Xiangwang Jade Branch, member of Suzhou Arts and Crafts Industry Association, and senior technician of Chinese Jade Carving. The lines of the jade carving he made are smooth. The conception of his work is agile and the workmanship is great. He has won gold, silver and outstanding awards in “Divine Work Award”, “Luzigang Cup”, “Hundred Flower Award” and “Kowloon Cup”.

Lu Huaming was born in Dongzhu -- hometown of embroidery in Suzhou. Since he was in childhood and under the influence of art, he had a strong interest in jade carving. In 1996, he began to learn from a master. In 2002, he set up "Lu Huaming jade carving studio" with his wife, so far he has engaged in jade carving industry for more than 20 years.

"For jade carvings, I never relax", he said.

For jade carving, it was a long and difficult journey for Lu Huaming, but he never gave up the pursuit of jade carving art. He recalled that his family economic conditions were not good, and the cost of making jade itself was very high at the beginning of the jade carving. Only raw materials needed a lot of capital investment. He met many difficulties at that time.“Go to now, although I have certain achievement, I also never relax. Doing every jade carving well is my duty.”he said.

For the current jade carving market, Lu Huaming said frankly:”The Jade Carving is more difficult to do in these two years. Jade raw materials were easy to find in previous times, and their demand was also very high. Now the overall economy is relatively depressed, and it also affected the jade carving industry; and jade raw materials are in shortage. It’s not easy to find good materials. So now, making a good jade carving is more difficult than before. However, I am still full of confidence in jade carving. Jade is the carrier of Chinese traditional culture, but also I hope that the jade carving culture can be propagated by famous persons in jade carving. Jade culture needs more people to inherit ."

Elegant Tastes of Lotus Pond

Jade of Xingjiang Hetian with one alone seed. The front is a little bit of gold skin, and the opposite side has autumn pear-shaped gray skin. The front sprinkle gold skin was designed into lotus, and the bottom was beautiful color carved into two koi fishes, swimming along the water.
